Highlights of Today’s Meeting

The meeting today was a success, what a great turn out! We introduced the new officers, went over upcoming events and elected a Graduate Liaison/Officer. We would like to thank everyone for attending and congratulate our new Graduate Liaison Chelsea Buras. Saha would also like to thank our Faculty Advisor Darius Spieth and Graduate Advisor Matt Savage for attending.

Next Meeting Feb. 22, Career Panel

Our next SAHA meeting is going to be a career panel with special guest speakers, snack food and refreshments. Curious about what your future career in art or art history might look like? Need options or advice about taking that next step? Stop by and check it out in Room 301, Design Building at 4:30 pm on Feb. 22, 2011  

The speakers are TJ Black (Gallery Member and Artist), Rod Parker (Director, LSU School of Art), Natalie Mault (LSU MOA Curator), and Professor Savage (LSU-Art HIstory) plus more…

Spring 2011: If you missed the first meeting…

We had out first meeting of the semester already. We introduced our officers and handed out a SAHA events calendar and a local events calendar. It’s okay if you couldn’t make it we will keep you updated here and you could also sign up for updates through email. Forks and Canvases

SAHA is trying something new that we’re really excited about. Ashley LeBlanc, a student from the School of Art, has agreed to lead us in a painting this Tuesday, November 23rd at 6:00 PM. We are in the process of reserving a classroom and will announce the location shortly. We will provide food, drinks, music, and all of the supplies for you to paint. It will be a fun and relaxing way to kick off Thanksgiving Holidays and to get ready for Finals. Here’s the information again:

Who: Everyone is invited! Feel free to bring friends even if they are not current members of SAHA.

What: Come enjoy food, drinks, and music while creating a painting with other members of SAHA.

Where: Art Building, classroom TBA

When: Tuesday November 13, 6:10-8:00 PM

Please RSVP (lsu.saha@gmail.com) is you are planning to attend! We need to know how many brushes, canvases, etc. to bring for the night.

Call for T-Shirt Designs!

Hello everyone, we are now accpeting designs for the 2010/2011 SAHA t-shirt! Some things to keep in mind:

Keep your designs simple; the fewer colors and details used, the better.
Submit designs on standard white copy paper (8.5″ by 11″).
Indicate the color of the actual shirt with your design.

All submissions are due next Monday, November 15th at noon. There will be a manilla envelope on the SAHA bulletin board outside of Professor Spieth’s office (2nd floor Design Building) for you to drop off ideas. Whoever’s design is chosen will receive a free t-shirt. We want to have a great shirt this year, so please consider making a submission!
